K….Run - check! Lift heavy weights - check! Able to do more push ups than I’ve ever been able to - check! Twist funny while coming out of a plank = strain ab muscle all the way up the chest to collar bone - check! Can’t breathe deep without it hurting let alone cough, sneeze, laugh, or sleep-can hardly lay down. Finally saw Dr. and she told me to take time off from everything or I’ll just reinjure it. Was supposed to run a 12k this Sunday and that is out. Might rebelliously walk half of it. :(

300 Calorie Dinner
Love to BBQ all year long, but it’s so terrific in the summer! I put my shrimp on skewers, lightly sprayed with spray olive oil and seasoned with dried dill, pepper, and lemon. Grilled until just pink. I added a little salt at the end (I don’t add salt to fish before or during cooking typically as it can toughen them). A small potato roll and fruit rounded out the dinner….and it was only 300 calories!

Pear Tart Substitute
There’s a great coffee shop in my building’s lobby. I try not to go there often as they have wonderful pastries that are hard to resist. Well, I’m not sure why, but I was thinking of their pear tart and wanted one soooooooooo bad. I almost went down there but then I remembered a recipe I saved. It was quick and yummy and I probably saved 500 calories by not getting the one downstairs:
Pears, fresh, 1 pear, medium (approx 2-1/2 per lb)
Pecans, chopped fine, 5 grams
Honey, 1 tsp
Cinnamon
Peel, core, and slice pear. Heat in microwave for 1 minute. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle nuts and cinnamon on top.

My son loves t-bones so it was steak night last night. They grilled just a little too long for me (love em on the rare side) but the flavor was good. It was a BIG steak…almost a pound. Had to be good the rest of the day so I could indulge. Here’s the stats for the whole dinner:
calories 709; carbs 57; fat 16; protein 81
